Golden Rosycross
Glossary

The Golden Rosycross is a modern Gnostic Spiritual School, and the most recent link in the long chain of Spiritual Schools throughout the ages. The Gnostic teachings and Universal Language found in our literature are those used by the founders of the Golden Rosycross, who often adopted terms and descriptors used by previous Gnostic Schools.
This Glossary aims to assist in clarifying the meaning of many of the terms we use today.

Knowledge

as meant by the philosophy of the Rosycross, the insight and understanding with regard to the reality of the Logos, into which the ennobled consciousness - the hermetic or pymandric consciousness - can enter. Consequently, the pupil learns to read and understand the all-wisdom of the Creator through direct observation.

kundalini

a round ring of countless tiny points resembling peas and lying against the pineal gland. When the new electromagnetic stream touches the head-sanctuary via the spirit spark atom, the thymus gland, and the blood, then these points (of which each one has its own particular task, power and working) begin to radiate a multi-coloured light, which is called the fire-circle of the kundalini. In the measure the pineal gland increasingly opens itself to the direct inflow of the light of the gnosis, it also increases the intensity and glory of the radiation power and working of the kundalini (see: pinealis).

librum naturae

a mystic indication for the Universal Doctrine, i.e. the absolute knowledge, wisdom, and power necessary to walk the upward path.

Lipika Being

the aural being or higher self, as the bearer of our karma, of our bondage resulting from the distant and the near past.

lipika

the lipika (the auric being or firmament) represents the totality of forces and values which result from the various personalities in the field of manifestation. All these forces together form the lights, the stars of the microcosmic firmament. These lights are magnetic foci which, according to their nature, determine the quality of the forces and substances extracted from the atmosphere and absorbed by the microcosm, and so by the personality being. The nature of the personality is therefore determined by the nature of these lights, and any change of the personality must be preceded by a change of the Lipika.

Living Body

see 'New gnostic Realm'

Logos

the Father of everything existing.

lucifer

the unholy soul-fire, the un-Divine fire burning both in the lower self as a dialectical soul-in-manifestation, and in the higher self, the aural fire-god who, over and over, radiates this unholy fire, as a soul, into a new mortal personality being.

macrocosm

the world at large, universe.

man of nature

a human being born of matter and subject to the law of the dialectical nature order.

mantram

a word or a series of words which, when sung or spoken from a certain state of consciousness, evoke a great power. Mantrams only then have a liberating effect, when used by a human being who is linked to the gnosis in the service of the great Work. Any other use evokes only natural forces, creates karma and, therefore, considerably strengthens the bondage to the wheel of dialectics.

material sphere

together the reflection sphere and the material sphere form the two halves of existence of the dialectical nature order. The material sphere is the region in which we live. The reflection sphere is the region in which, among other things, the process of transition between death and reincarnation takes place in the microcosm. It consists of that which is erroneously indicated as heaven and eternal life by natural-religion and occultism, besides the spheres of hell and purgatory (the sphere of purification). These heavenly spheres and the existence in them are just as much subject to finiteness and temporality as the existence in the material sphere. The reflection sphere is the temporary abode of the dead. This does not imply that the dead personality will be raised up to new life for there is no survival of the fourfold personality. Only the deepest nucleus of the consciousness, the spiritual flash or dialectical spark, is temporarily reaccepted in the aural being and forms the basis of consciousness for the new personality, which is built up by the aural being in cooperation with the powers at work within the mother.
