In this Fifth Aquarius Conference, held in Toulouse, France, in July 1967, the authors, Jan van Rijckenborgh and Catharose de Petri, brought to the consciousness of those present, the important role that the ‘caduceus’, the serpent fire, the kundalini, must play in the current spiritual impulses that are affecting all of humanity. As man has descended into the nadir of materiality, so the sacral plexus, the south pole of the serpent fire, has also been attuned to the fundamental vibrations of this nature order, and must now, in the new spiritual possibilities presenting themselves, be consciously changed so as to attune itself to the higher vibrations of this new period of development.

This process, driven by the impulses of Aquarius, is also assisted by the inter-cosmic radiations of Serpentarius and Cygnus, who bring order and balance to these changes. Assuming the individual, through a correct attitude of life, is able to assimilate these influences in a positively directed manner, they become a great help in the transformation of the personality, and birth of the new Soul, feeding the process and breaking down all resistances.

Thus, the caduceus becomes the ‘Staff of Hermes’, blazing with the Fire, Light, and Power of the new Soul, united with the Spirit, with which the candidate overcomes all of his inner adversaries, and stands pure before God.
