Glossary
The Golden Rosycross is a modern Gnostic Spiritual School, and the most recent link in the long chain of Spiritual Schools throughout the ages. The Gnostic teachings and Universal Language found in our literature are those used by the founders of the Golden Rosycross, who often adopted terms and descriptors used by previous Gnostic Schools.
This Glossary aims to assist in clarifying the meaning of many of the terms we use today.

Serpent Fire
the soul or consciousness-fire to be found in the spinal column. The serpent fire or serpent fire system is the creative energy of the biologic consciousness circulating through the cerebro-spinal system and controlling the entire dialectic manifestation via this system and by means of the nerves.
Seven-Spirit
the third aspect of the threefold Godhead. It is the all-embracing love of the Father, which is explained by the Son, who goes out to fallen humankind as a sevenfold radiation field, to save what is lost. Under the guidance and with the help of the sevenfold universal power, manifesting itself in the Universal Brotherhood, the process of transfiguration can be accomplished. During this process, the sevenfold Holy Spirit comes to dwell again in the candidate.
Soul
in the context used by the Golden Rosycross, the soul is intermediary between spirit and matter; consequently, as the light and as the blood connecting the first aspect of the threefold human manifestation with its third aspect. The soul of the threefold dialectic manifestation must of necessity be mortal. This is why the Christ is called the Savior of the soul, for without an absolutely purified soul intermediary a higher life is impossible.
Spirit nucleus
the original centre of consciousness, the Spirit nucleus of the true, immortal man. At the time of the Fall of man, when he was banished to our present dialectic field of existence, the heavenly personality was emptied and, consequently, the Central Spirit nucleus lost the wherewithal to manifest itself. Ever since, it has been bound by the earthly, mortal personality; powerless, and in endless suffering, it must endure a biologic consciousness, the mortal and dark I-consciousness, to rule in its place, in unholy and blind self-fulfilment. The Redemption in Christ aims at abolishing this unholy rulership of the I and, by the voluntary self-sacrifice of the I-being, and by reanimating the original personality through the power of grace of the Universal Christ, to afford the True man, the Man-of-Spirit, the opportunity to manifest himself again within the Divine Plan, according to his calling.
Spirit-Soul
the path of pupilship of a gnostic Spiritual School is to awaken the immortal soul from its latent state. As soon as this soul awakens from its sleep of death, the link with the universal Spirit, with God, is restored. This restored link between Spirit and soul, between God and man, is demonstrated in the glorious resurrection of the Other One, in the return of the prodigal son, the true man, to the House of the Father. The soul that is granted this link, this unification with what is called by the Egyptian Arch-Gnosis ‘Pymander’, is the Spirit-Soul. It is the unity of Osiris-Isis (Spirit-soul), of Christ-Jesus, of Father-and-Son, the alchemical wedding of Christian Rosycross, the wedding of the heavenly groom with his heavenly bride. Spirit-Soul also refers to the heart sanctuary of dialectical man, emptied and purified of every nature-born influence and activity, that vibrates harmoniously with the rose, with the spirit-spark atom. It indicates the pure, reborn soul, merging with the radiations of the Spirit; the unity of the Rose, the centre of the microcosm, and the radiations of the Seven-Spirit. Pymander, the Spirit, is revealed by and speaks through the Spirit-Soul.
Spirit-Spark
the Spirit-spark-atom, the rose-bud, the holy lotus of the Mysteries. This atom is a rudimentary remnant of the original divine life. It is the mathematic centre of the human microcosm, at the top of the right heart ventricle. The microcosm must possess such a Spirit-spark- atom, for this is essential to start and push onward the process of transfiguration. In the Universal Language, the people who do not possess a Spirit-spark-atom are indicated as life-spark-entities; this means that they are inaccessible for the Gnosis.
