Using extracts from the Corpus Hermeticum as a central starting point, the religious ideas, thoughts, philosophies, and psychologies from varying perspectives can be seen to reveal a common thread that is ever present as a guide for the seeker with a longing heart. By bringing together the threefold concept of God, Cosmos and Man (Humanity), the author demonstrates the link between the Creator, Creation and Creature is a signature present and constant in all of ‘Life’, and reflected in our material being through inspiration, imagination and creativity. Then words “As above, so below”, are found to be true both inside of man, as well as outside of him.

Sommaire

In using extracts from the Corpus Hermeticum attributed to the Egyptian initiate, Hermes Trismegistos, and placing them as a central starting point, the author, Andre de Boer, brings in religious ideas, thoughts, philosophies, and psychologies from varying perspectives, showing us the link and common thread that is ever present to guide the seeker with a longing heart. Approaching the ‘mysteries’ of God from perspectives such as: ‘experiencing the divine’, ‘consciously perceiving’, ‘realising purification’, and ‘going the path to godliness’, many of these concepts are opened to us, thus moving from ‘mystery’ to knowledge and practical application.

By bringing together the threefold concept of God, Cosmos and Man (Humanity), the author is able to show us how the link between the Creator, Creation and Creature is a signature that is present and constant in all of ‘Life’. It can be found in the spiritual relationship between Spirit, Soul and Body (Idea, Image and Form), as well as being reflected in our material being through inspiration, imagination and creativity. Thus the words of the Corpus Hermeticum: ‘As above, so below’, are found to be true both inside of man, as well as outside of him.

In the second part of this book, the author has compiled a series of twenty-two inspirational tributes (Hymns, Prayers, Ode’s, Psalms, Testimonies and Songs) from various ancient sources, all praising the Creator, creation and his creature (man) in their own, often mystical and poetic way. Again, we are shown the universality of the same spiritual message and path that has always been there for those who seek to know these ‘mysteries’.
